While sitting in your new classes, did you find yourself wishing it was still summer break?

Situated along the dockside of Fells Point is a unique restaurant and bar called Barcocina. The menu features a selection of Mexican cuisine and drinks listed in three categories: sweet, spicy and smoky. The dishes are served to the table to share and the portions are plentiful.

Seats are located at the wooden bar or outside on the wrap-around porch. Several garage doors open up to outdoor seating that looks out over the bay. You can pour yourself a glass of water from the chilled bottle at the table and watch as boats exit the docks.

This is a great place to go in the late afternoon for lunch or dinner. After your meal, you can explore the cobbled streets of Fells Point with its many shops, bakeries and boat excursions. If you show up on a Thursday night, Barcocina offers great deals for happy hour food and drinks.

Aylin Golaszewski is a University of Michigan student visiting family in Baltimore for the summer said, “If you were only going to be able to try one thing at this place, I’d definitely recommend the churro dessert. It comes with a silky Bailey’s caramel sauce that you’ll be eating off the plate long after the churros are gone.”

If you find yourself stressed from classes and looking for a break, check out this restaurant by the harbor. Its a great place to take some friends and enjoy a good meal while surrounded by the sights of downtown Baltimore.
