Baltimore staple shutters, Hopkins has Greek trouble, UMD Football shaken

Closing a Camden Yards staple

Baltimore’s Sports Legends Museum, which sits right in front of Oriole Park at Camden yards, has closed. The non-profit museum which is managed by the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum was forced to stop operations after failing to secure a new lease with the Maryland Stadium Authority. The museum opened its doors in May 2005 and featured sports memorabilia and interactive exhibits.

Sig Ep at Hopkins faces investigation 

The Johns Hopkins University chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon, or “Sig Ep,” is reportedly prohibited from hosting any social activities as the university investigates an alleged sexual assault. According to the “Johns Hopkins Newsletter,” officials are looking into allegations that a male undergraduate student was drugged at the off-campus fraternity house and and possibly sexually assaulted.

Randy Edsall fired from Maryland Football 

The University of Maryland has fired Head Football Coach Randy Edall, terminating his three year contract extension. Fran Foley, the director of football operations, was also fired. Maryland’s Offensive Coordinator Mike Locksley has been named as the interim head coach for the rest of the season. Edsall’s termination came after the Terps faced their third consecutive loss on Sunday to Ohio State.
