Sept. 1 A black SUV crashed into the front of a Dunkin Donuts in Ellicott City shortly after 5:30 p.m. Two pedestrians were injured, although the vehicle’s driver and two passengers were unharmed.
Sept. 2 Police charged two individuals with the murder of an East Baltimore resident on August 5. 31-year-old Dominic Deschamps and 23-year-old Che McDowell allegedly shot and killed 46-year-old Bruce Paige on N. Monroe St.
Sept. 3 The Maryland Food Bank announced the beginning of Hunger Action Month to raise awareness and support for families affected by hunger and food insecurity. A number of food collection and awareness-raising events are scheduled throughout Baltimore for the month of September.
Sept. 4 The Baltimore Ravens unveiled a commemorative statue of former linebacker Ray Lewis outside of M&T Stadium before a crowd of fans on Thursday. The statue was created by local artist Fred Kail and took 11 months to produce.
Sept. 5 A report released by the Maryland Gaming & Lottery Control Agency revealed that Maryland casinos had reached a record in monthly profits, with $80.6 million for the month of August.
Sept. 6 Two men were shot in separate incidents on Saturday afternoon. The first occurred on W. North St. at about 2:45 p.m., while the other took place at about 4:45 p.m. On S. Pays on St. Police have not yet determined a suspect or motive in either shooting.

A female student at Towson University died Saturday night at an off-campus residence, a university spokeswoman said. The university did not immediately identify the student or the circumstances of her death.

The Baltimore Ravens lost their season opener to the Bengals this weekend, 23 – 16. The loss is reminiscent of their previous season, which left the Ravens with an 8A -8 record.
